Your Hosts - Drew Musser and Steph Moore
Drew and Steph met in Vail, Colorado in 2000. They were both enjoying life in the mountains and working for a boutique resort at the base of Vail Mountain. Drew was in sales and Steph in finance. In the years to follow, Steph remained in the hospitality industry working in finance, operations, and business development for world class resorts throughout the western states and Hawaii; and Drew became an elementary school teacher in Eagle, Colorado specializing in history and science. They married in the Tuscan town of Panzano, Italy in 2013.
During a trip to Drew’s hometown of Chillicothe in the fall of 2019 to visit family and friends they fell in love with this old house on 5th Street. They purchased the home before Christmas that year and renovations began in early 2020. Brought on by the pandemic, progress was slow throughout that first year and this proved to be a challenging project to tackle from fifteen hundred miles away. In 2021 along with their Weimaraner, Dante, they decided to leave their mountain lifestyle and return to Drew’s roots to complete renovations, spend more time w/ family and life-long friends, and build a business of their own where they could host others in a town dear to Drew’s heart.
Drew is extremely passionate about Chillicothe’s rich history and can vouch for its recognition as one of the best small towns in America. After graduating from Chillicothe high school, Drew attended The Ohio State University where he studied English and History and was a proud member of The Best Damn Band in the Land; a dream that ultimately led to him being an I-Dotter in the incomparable Script Ohio. Drew's hobbies include gardening, cooking, fly fishing, golf, eco-education, and a new-found love of window and vintage hardware restoration. He is also an 18th century reenactor and has enjoyed researching the history of the home and its former inhabitants.
Steph is a Vermont native and grew up in the lush Green Mountains developing a strong sense of self and nature. She moved west shortly after college to work in the ski resort town of Park City, UT. Since moving to Ohio, Steph has shifted to a consulting role with several vacation rental properties in the country. She enjoys cooking, reading, and taking walks in the woods with Dante. Forever passionate about traveling and exploring the best in food and wine, opening a bed and breakfast just seemed like a natural next step.
Now, Drew spends his days fine tuning details throughout the house and plotting his next renovation, while Steph handles finances and operational details, and together they test new menu items and serve breakfast. Dante works as the official greeter and keeps the neighborhood squirrels at bay.
